Barbara has donated for over 30 years

As a trainee teacher in 1979 on the North Shore, Auckland, I was given my first opportunity to give blood. A few months later I was called from class and asked to make another donation and it was urgent. A small baby at the North Shore hospital needed some O neg blood for a life saving procedure. The realisation struck me that my donation could really make a difference was the start of ongoing donations over the next 30 years.
