Kathi has donated since 1970

I first donated in 1970 when I had just arrived in Wellington to study journalism at Wellington Polytechnic. The mobile unit visited and as a class we were encouraged to donate. It was something I found I could do relatively easily so I have continued ever since, with breaks while living overseas, and when the children were young. I now donate plasma. A bonus for me is the wonderful friendly welcome I receive every time from the lovely women taking the blood - some of whom I have got to know well over the years.
